Help and Advice
Pelvic floor strengthening
Pelvic floor strengthening
The pelvic floor muscles stretch from the pubic bone to the coccyx and act like a hammock, protecting the pelvic organs and holding them in place. If we leave these muscles to weaken – as they naturally will for all of us (more quickly for mothers and those approaching menopause), we are more at risk of experiencing leaks, lack of intimate sensation or, even worse, pelvic organ prolapse.
It is possible to maintain and rebuild strength in the pelvic floor by performing regular exercises, which can be done manually or using an electronic device.
Sensitive bladder & leaks
Sensitive bladder & leaks
A staggering 1 in 3 women in the UK suffer with bladder leaks, with many developing it at an earlier age. Thought it was just "old ladies"? No - we are here to tell you that the problem can start from late teens onwards and it is the silent epidemic that no woman wants to talk about - let alone admit she suffers to her nearest and dearest.
We know how debilitating struggling with leaks can be. Indeed, it can severely affect mental wellbeing and prevent us from living our lives to the full. Don’t accept it as an inevitability!
Prolapse
Prolapse
The primary cause of prolapse is weakened or damaged pelvic floor muscles. Responsible for supporting each of the pelvic organs, when they are no longer strong enough to carry out this job effectively, it can result in one or more of the organs sagging, or dropping down, into the vagina/rectum. Scarily, it is estimated that 1 in 2 women over the age of 50 will suffer with some form of prolapse.
There are various different types and stages which represent the prolapse severity. For some of us, the symptoms will be so mild that we won't even visit our doctor. However, even where this is the case, it can still significantly impact on our physical and emotional wellbeing.
It's therefore vital that we know the best ways to prevent and manage it!
Intimate sensation
Intimate sensation
Strong muscles in your pelvic floor means they are tighter, thicker and more responsive so, when you make love, your muscles close tightly around your partner increasing your sensation and creating that delicious orgasm-soaring friction that will amplify and magnify both your orgasms!
Have you "gone off" sex? Doesn’t feel the same anymore? Do you try to avoid having sex? If your pelvic floor is weak, sexual sensation will be reduced and your orgasms may even be a thing of the past. Thankfully Kegel8 has the quick and easy answer to reinvigorate your sex-life.
Something else
Something else
We all know the impact a weak pelvic floor can have on our life! Thankfully, now there’s something we can do about it. So, if you’re sick of trying to see the funny side of laughter leaks, tired of losing your grip on satisfying sex, or you simply want to regain control of your life and invest in your health, Kegel8 is here to help.
What our customers say
Read more reviewsI'm 4 weeks in and I can honestly say that my bladder strength has improved a lot. Long way to go yet but its only a month and I feel the difference! I've lost that need of feeling like I need to pee a lot.
This product was recommend to me by my Gynaecologist, because I have 2nd degree of uterine prolapse, I am doing the exercise since I got it and it has been just three weeks but I can see the results already, I highly recommend it.
As a mum of 6, which includes twins, I've had my fair share of stress in the pelvic area! I bought this because I've never done any pelvic floor exercises and I'm now suffering with minor stress incontinence. I feel like my pelvic floor is being worked properly and there is no way I'd be able to do this manually. I pop it in, watch Netflix and chill. I love it. I'd buy another, it really is that good but.. I've only got one vagina! "
Apart from the easy set-up and use, it's also not at all an unpleasant sensation - and best of all, apart from the fact it actually works, of course, is that it's also teaching me about how to tighten my own pelvic floor muscles at other times (turns out I've spent all these years not quite getting it right, despite investing in all sorts of other gadgets). Buy one today - you really won't regret it.
Having spent ages reading a lot of the reviews I just knew I had to buy one. I opted for the Kegel8 Ultra 20 V2 and wow was I surprised upon using it. Kegel8 has changed and improved my life immensely, it just works. I found having to do pelvic floor exercises several times a day, not only difficult, but extremely tiring and I hated it, but had to do it. But with the Kegel8 Ultra, it was so much easier, I wouldn’t be without it.
I have used the Kegel8 religiously twice a day since it arrived, using programmes 15 and 3 and, although not completely gone, I no longer feel the prolapse when I walk, sit, wash, go to the toilet... This has been life-changing for me, especially as I could not face the surgical option.

Frequently asked questions
It's never too late to start managing the issues with a prolapse, there is no quick fix but Kegel8 is here to help. It is true that, if left untreated the symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse will simply worsen over time. Regular pelvic floor exercises have been shown to build muscle and tone which creates a thicker support shelf for the organs to rest on, essentially holding them up and keeping them in place. Improving your pelvic floor muscle strength and endurance also helps bladder and bowel control. Our patented medical device, the Kegel8 Ultra 20 V2, has a proven 12 week programme which is designed to help you exercise like never before and is especially effective on very weak pelvic floor muscles.
We’ll take you through 4 different pelvic floor rehab programmes in 12 weeks, followed by a 15 or 30 minute weekly maintenance programme to maintain the positive results.
Our aim is to make you feel free and invigorated again.
Please remember we are all different and that’s why Kegel8 offers different medical exercisers. If you feel your pelvic floor muscles are OK and just need toning, Cones and the Kegel8 Trainer will amplify your results and help you measure your strength. If you know the muscles are weak, and you can’t make or hold a muscle contraction and you occasionally leak then a STIM (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) in the form of the Kegel8 Ultra 20 V2 is perfect for you. All our medical devices are designed for easy home use to effectively help you get the results you would normally get in a clinic. We’d love you to commit to a 12 week programme of exercising to see the best results.
Take our Which Kegel8 above to help you choose the exerciser that’s best for you, be honest with your answers (no one can see), and let’s get started getting you stronger!
You can eliminate leaks in 12 weeks and achieve a healthy pelvic floor with regular use of a device. In the first week your toner will help you find and feel your pelvic floor muscles. By week 4 you’ll start to feel a real difference, more control, less leaks, resulting in more confidence. And by week 12 your pelvic floor is strong and you’re living life without leaks and sudden urges. You can follow a short weekly maintenance programme to maintain the positive results. Don’t make the mistake of stopping as soon as you feel an improvement because many users notice a difference within days!
Kegel8, we are always by your side.
You are not alone; this is one of the top questions we get asked and it is distressing for so many women. The Kegel8 Ultra 20 V2 is a patented medical device that will help strengthen internal muscles so you and your partner can feel those thrilling sensations again. The specialist programme, devised by a physiotherapist, will automatically help you grow thicker and stronger muscles bringing more blood flow to the area which improves sensation. We’ll take you through 5 different pelvic floor rehab programmes in 12 weeks, followed by a 15 min weekly maintenance programme to maintain the positive results.
With Kegel8 you can become more body aware again.
Absolutely, any bladder leak will not get better on its own and will sadly only get worse, so whilst a pad may give you daily confidence, we’ve got a medically proven solution for you to regain control. Bear in mind, 1 in 10 women with bladder leaks will develop bowel leaks too.
Using STIM (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) we will guide you through a series of exercises during 4 different pelvic floor rehab programmes in 12 weeks, and after just 4 weeks you’ll notice a significant improvement.
These exercises are designed to trigger the muscles to contract and relax making the pelvic floor strong and supportive – just like it used to be!
Kegel8 puts you back in control.
Weakness like this is perfect for STIM (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) where the Kegel8 Ultra 20 V2 does all the work for you. Simply insert the probe and like a Sat-Nav for the muscles it automatically locates them. The electrical pulses trigger a contraction – working and resting the muscles for a 20 minute programme to bring your pelvic floor back to life again, so you FEEL them again. More importantly you control them again too!
Once a night weeing is normal, but if you have lots of night-time loo visits you may also be experiencing an overactive bladder and stress incontinence. We have a programme, clinically devised, which helps to calm an overactive bladder and this works for nocturia (where you frequently wake up in the night and need to pass urine) too. Using neuromodulation (which is the alteration of nerve activity using a stimulus such as electrical stimulation ) it calms the nerves that make the bladder irritable and this can be used via a vaginal probe or by using ankle skin electrodes. This can be useful for some users who prefer not to use an internal probe and want to restore bladder control and the embarrassment of always ‘nipping to the loo’. Give us 12 weeks to follow our programme and we’ll give you back your freedom!
A STIM (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) device will help you improve your pelvic floor health and strength so that you are less inclined to suffer the effects of a weak pelvic floor. We have a number of clinically devised, 12 week programmes to resolve a number of the symptoms – we’d suggest you start with addressing the leaks. This will help you to manage your prolapse by stopping it getting worse and strengthening the supporting muscles. Once you’ve got strength and support back in those muscles, this will improve vascularisation (blood circulation to you and me) in the pelvic area which all adds to improved sensation.
Menopause is a big change but with Kegel8 you can embrace it full on!
